Any damage from insects water or other problems should be repaired prior to carpet installation.
Provide drawings with the approved location of seams edge moldings carpet direction and accessories adhesives cushion etc.
But even for non patterned carpeting you can detect the direction of the carpet s pile by looking at it from different directions in strong light.

Obviously if your carpet has a pattern seaming two pieces requires careful attention to matching the pattern between adjoining pieces.
Generally seams should run in the same direction as most foot traffic.
Any two carpet tiles facing in different directions will appear to be slightly different colors.
